The men behind the masks are back and ready to attack. CamelPhat, comprised of Dave Whelan & Mike Di Scala, have undergone some serious overhauling; taking their once progressive house sounding sound (under Whelan & Di Scala) and exchanging it for something rather deeper. They have gone extreme lengths this past year to get the most of the transition, creating a number remixes along with a feature EP dubbed “Art Of Work”, not to mention the monthly mixes they’ve brought to life which have showcased the music of their friends, their inspirations and of course, themselves.
In the midst of all that, an original piece was composed. Narrowly escaping their Axtone Presents mix by two months, “Constellations” first saw the light of day during Pete Tong’s Essential Selection back in March. Since then, the track has received nothing but love from BBC radio heads Annie Mac, Danny Howard and Pete Tong himself. Apart from that, Constellations had seeped into the sets of many famous DJs prior to it’s August 3rd release and the Brits foresee it only getting bigger following it’s official exit. With a vibe as silky smooth as the track provides, we find ourselves in agreement with the guys of CamelPhat.
See what all the buzz is about in giving CamelPhat’s Constellations a much deserved listen!
