December 15, 2015 will mark Hardwell’s return to India. This one however, will be more special than the others, as he will be announced as the head of a new charity focused on organizing proper education for needy children in India. The “United We Are Foundation”, started by Hardwell and teamed up with Anna Agency, has Hardwell playing the show for free, with all the proceeds going towards the foundation in order to give back to the children of the world. Anna Agency CEO Anna Knaup claims the charity project is “a globally ambitious endeavor to educate young children in different communities of the world”.
The foundation begins in India, and in collaboration with United Welfare Trust, will travel across the countries, spreading the ideology of “United We Are” in order to generate more proceeds for the cause. Furthermore, the event and the foundation is under the guiding hand of super accounting firm, Ernst & Young.
Electronic dance music events are popular in India, particularly in Bangalore and Mumbai which have acted as EDM hotspots for all DJs ranging from Above & Beyond to Markus Schulz (who even went as far as to name one of his tracks after Mumbai). Hardwell seeks to raise the bar a notch or two with this event, raising money as he hosts events across India, and eventually other parts of the world.
Anyone who supports the cause will be able to donate towards the event and be a part of a truly inspirational event headlined by one of EDM’s greatest.
