Ask any dance music veteran and they will tell you that Ibiza is the spot to be at during the summer, but in recent years, that is no longer true and the island is going through some major changes. In early 2016, it was announced that it will be the final year for the iconic club, Space Ibiza ending a 27-year run and will look for another spot for its rebirth while the owners of Ushuaïa take the old place. It doesn’t stop there though as another legendary venue seeks to remove itself from the monopolization that Ushuaïa has caused. Pacha Group has now publicly announced they will be selling their assets for 500 million euros. Whoever purchases Pacha Group will own clubs in Spain, Brazil, Buenos Aires, Dubai, Tel-Aviv, Macau and more. It’s unclear what the future of dance music will be like in Ibiza, but for right now the founders of Space Ibiza and Pacha Group are unhappy about the recent changes.
