THEMBA, Knee Deep In Sound’s newest upcoming protégé, is out with his second release under the label. The South African producer has been making waves in the House scene throughout Europe, and this 3 track EP continues his rise.

What I absolutely love about THEMBA’s production, is that all of his tracks have a natural flow. Sounds are introduced properly. Moreover, every sample or sound heard sounds like it belongs in the track. Nothing feels out of place or wrong. With that in mind, let’s check out the 3 tracks!

Track 1 is Haai and features lots of wild and ambient sounds. What I really like about this track is the slow build up. There’s lots of pieces that move and come together in this track, and it all flows together so naturally. It’s easy to digest, and Lolo Vilakazi’s voice is warm and inviting. Feels like a dream with a lot more kick to it.

Track 2, Exodus. Right from the start you get more of a tribal feel, with a little more groove to it. Much like Haai, THEMBA uses a lot of melodic rhythms over the groovy beat. This one has an added layer of mystery to it. Though not as fun or club-worthy to get the party started, this track seems more suited as a transitional piece, or something great to listen to solo.

The last track on the EP is Shaka. This track picks up right where Exodus left off. Equally as melodic and groovy, except with more of a trippy vibe. It’s hard to say which I like more, this track or Haai.
