With every festival, more and more attention seems to be drawn to tragedy. The most recent tragic event involved Kaylyn Rose, who went overboard on the Mad Decent Boat party last month, never to be found. Stereosonic in Sydney sadly brings some more tragic news. The festival, which hosted all the big names from Oliver Heldens and Diplo to Andrew Rayel and Claude VonStroke, has recently announced the loss of a 25 year old woman who had attended, having passed at the nearby Concord Hospital. Another person has been induced into a medical coma as well, considered to be in critical condition.

Australian Police claim to have arrested 69 attendees for drug possession as well.

With the Stereosonic tour soon to be reaching more Australian cities like Perth and Melbourne, there is no doubt the organization may have to adapt their policies in order to further prevent these situations from happening again. However the question remains. Is drug prevention truly possible at these large-scale events?
